"BLUES
- Compositions of Time Lanes"
Music work camp
from 31st May - 13th June 2004 in the open air museum Finsterau
near the National Park Bavarian Forest.
The project "Young Impulses in the boarder region D
- CZ" tries to create a network of people who find it
important to make room for contacts, to make further innovative
developments in arts possible and to work out new forms of
cultural programs in the educational sector.

The music pedagogue Christian Balboo Bojko from Spiegelau
in the Bavarian Forest has worked on this target for years.
He knows his home region, the forest and its people and therefore
he also knows the very special flair this region is known
for. He tries to transform these (home) feelings in the project
"BLUES - compositions of Time Lanes" to music together
with the camp participiants.

With his project he makes a contribution that the vision
and the appeal of the former Minister of Education and Professional
Contemporary Music in the region of Passau Dr. Hans Zehetmaier
will not be forgotten. The project shall be the start of building
up a long-lasting image that enlarges the significance of
the boarder region Germany - Austria - Czech Republic in the
international context on a long-term basis.
For the participiants as well as for the spectators it will
create new access to a common region and to ourselves.

Balboo Bojko, the musical leader worked out an art concept
for the music work camp. On that basis he wants to work out
a high-quality blues interpretation with the team of young
musicians from different European countries:
The specialty of Blues has been ever since that it has always
been without any accusation, without any comment and direct.
Somehow like repeating a situation but in music. In its songs
you could feel hope, hoping for a time, for a moment when
everything will improve. And at the same time a memory of
moments, when everything was good. Happy moments in life.
And until today Blues goes on. Not influenced and unimpressed
by any pop music. Because it knows and everyone who plays
it know so, too, that Blues was the cradle of almost every
music that followed.
hier gehts zum Freilichtmuseum Finsterau...
No matter if it is Rock 'n' Roll, Heavy Metal, Rap or especially
Jazz. Because that is what the Czech Republic became famous
for in the world. Like a landmark, that is how CZ came up.
You can feel the swinging music in every step that you walk.
If you are surprised by a Big Band in the old city center
of Prague or if a Dixieland Band delights the people walking
on by, if a lonesome saxophone player spreads good mood in
the shopping mile Na Poikopi or if you join a boat tour on
the Moldau on a "Jazzboat" - Jazz is always with
you.
In the project "Time Lanes of the Region" we will
try to set up a connection between the past and the present.
But the music work camp in the boarder region D - CZ in the
open air museum Finsterau wants more:
Blues is a life attitude, it tells about loneliness, hope,
sufficiency and of being content and so it reflects the "typical
inhabitant of the Bavarian Forest". That means that through
Blues we actually could find parallels of two countries. And
that is what happens in the project "Compositions of
Time Lanes": We will find again bridges between people.
Methods
It is the method of the music work camp to create more connections
than only the connection by art.
On the one hand young people, students and artists will meet
and discuss and develop new tendencies and trends of young
music.
Moreover, "Compositions of Time Lanes" shall be
an interdisciplinary symposium. Many phenomena of Young Music,
Young Art can be explained by contents of other subject areas.
Therefore we can and must broaden the methods of convenient
music science in a project. Other fields like philosophy,
arts, cultural science, computer science and business administration
will be included in the development process.
On the other hand we will try to create a temporary connection
by making "meantimes" between the work camps. You
can use that time to discuss and work with contemporary music,
especially Blues. By the geographical distance of the participants'
home countries we create a kind of international network that
has its junction in the Bavarian forest.

Art Target
The project shall be a forum within a creational process,
which wants to set impulses for the further scientific and
art occupation with contemporary music. We hope for impulses
for the contents of our music education program. But we also
want to show without any stress how different the methodical
starts can be at a scientific musical subject apart from the
official subjects at music academies and music institutions.
We want to "examine" Blues in any way and see if
within an interregional network also an intercultural and
an "intermusical" network can develop.
